📌 Overview

On June 26, 2025, the ransomware group Qilin announced an attack against the Autonomous City of Melilla, a Spanish government entity. According to Qilin, the group exfiltrated between 4–5 terabytes of sensitive information and disrupted administrative and network systems. The claim includes possession of the full personal data of all indigenous inhabitants of Melilla, as well as personal data on tourists and internal government communications. The leak was presented as a response to authorities allegedly ignoring prior contact attempts.
