Swiss defense and aerospace company Ruag MRO Holding AG has confirmed that its U.S. subsidiary, Ruag LLC, suffered a ransomware attack targeting its Virginia liaison office. The company stated that the incident is being managed professionally and that appropriate countermeasures have already been implemented.
According to Ruag, the breach is fully contained within the U.S. branch and has no impact on Swiss operations or data. Ruag LLC operates with independent IT systems, ensuring that systems and sensitive information in Switzerland, as well as other Ruag MRO Holding AG subsidiaries, remain unaffected. Current assessments indicate that no sensitive employee data in Switzerland has been compromised.
Ruag LLC employs eight staff members who coordinate exchanges with U.S.-based institutions, suppliers, and partner organizations. The attack has been linked to a well-known international ransomware group that has targeted several other companies in Switzerland and globally in recent months.
