Man Arrested in South Bakersfield on Federal Drug Charges

A 34-year-old man, believed to operate under the alias “SpeedyPharma” on darknet markets, was taken into custody on Wednesday, January 7, in south Bakersfield on suspected federal drug offenses.

The Bakersfield Police Department, along with the DEA Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service offices in Iowa and Pittsburgh, executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Hosking Avenue.

During the operation, Jonatan Gonzalez, 34, was arrested on suspicion of federal drug-related charges.

Authorities reported seizing the following from the residence:

  • 46.1 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 546 grams of cocaine
  • 2.8 pounds of black tar heroin
  • 34.9 grams of fentanyl
  • 513.5 grams of marijuana
  • 507 pre-packaged parcels suspected of containing various controlled substances
  • $40,565 in U.S. currency

Officials stated the investigation remains ongoing.
