La Vergne Investigates Network Disruption; Core Services Unaffected

LA VERGNE, Tenn. — City officials in La Vergne are responding to a network disruption that temporarily impacted several computer systems. Upon discovering the issue, the city promptly disconnected affected systems and enlisted cybersecurity experts, as well as federal and state law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), to support the investigation and recovery process.

The city emphasized its commitment to transparency and stated that verified updates will be shared as they become available. Offices were closed on Friday, October 17, due to ongoing network issues. Despite the disruption, essential services, such as public safety and water operations, remain fully operational.

Residents are advised to follow official city channels and social media accounts for accurate updates.

Officials also noted that, on Thursday, the La Vergne Police Department’s administrative phone lines briefly went down but were restored within about an hour. It remains unclear whether that earlier outage is connected to the current cybersecurity incident.
