"Today we are pleased to announce the launch of Dark Matter's harm reduction campaign, the Secret Shopper and Verified Vendor program.

One of the primary reasons that people come to the darknet is that, in general, there is an expectation for a greater level of purity and care for the quality of drugs than would be found on the street. Unfortunately, we live in a day and age where cutting agents (some inert, some harmful) are relatively commonplace and it is often not realistic for vendors to be lab testing every single one of their products.
Additionally, it isnt particularly common to expect buyers to be lab testing every single thing they purchase. This can lead to issues where vendors may be unintentionally selling impure or adulterated drugs and buyers may be receiving lower quality or even harmful products.

With our harm reduction campaign, we seek to address these issues as well as reward vendors who are meeting strict standards of product quality and purity. We will be employing a market funded secret shopper campaign in which anonymous and unknown buyers will be placing random orders from vendors on a monthly basis. When a secret shopper receives the product, they will send it to lab testing and report the labtest results back to Dark Matter. The purchases will be completely randomized and anonymous so vendors cannot know in advance who is a secret shopper, thus preventing a buyer from receiving artificially higher quality products.

On a monthly basis, we will release a report of the lab test results from the prior month's secret shopping. Vendors who receive high quality test results from their products will receive a 'Harm Reduction Verified Vendor' badge on the market which will help buyers notice this vendor's good standing and improve their sales. We may also provide additional benefits like free advertising credits or increased vendor levels for vendors who consistently yield high marks in the secret shopper results. Vendors with low quality results will be encouraged to improve their product quality and this will give buyers greater transparency in terms of who they should or should not order from.

Vendors whose products yield harmful and dangerous test results will have their products disabled.

With the launch of this program, we are able to add more safety to the darknet, more transparency to buyers, a greater motivation for vendors to seek out high quality product stock and rewarding those vendors who excel in quality."
