A Bloomington man has been arrested on 44 child pornography charges following a lengthy investigation by the Bloomington Police Department’s Cyber Crimes Unit.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, officers with the BPD Street Crimes Unit and Criminal Investigations Division, working alongside the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested 35-year-old Aaron Ringo of Bloomington. He is being held at the McLean County Detention Facility after a judge denied him pre-trial release.

The case began when a technology company reported possible child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Detectives with BPD executed multiple search warrants, uncovering evidence that ultimately led to the charges.
Ringo is now facing a total of 44 felony counts, which include:
- 12 counts of Possession of Child Pornography (victim under 13) – Class 2 Felony
- 6 counts of Possession of Child Pornography (moving depiction) – Class 2 Felony
- 10 counts of Reproduction of Child Pornography (moving depiction) – Class X Felony
- 16 counts of Reproduction of Child Pornography (victim under 13) – Class X Felony
“These crimes are extremely complicated and difficult for our detectives to work, but they remain focused and determined,” Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington said in a statement. “The victims in these cases deserve the very best protection and justice, and that is our mission.”
The Bloomington Police Department is part of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which specializes in investigating and training law enforcement agencies on child exploitation cases.
