National Insurance is one of the pillars of Israel's social policy. It serves as the state's social insurance institution and operates on the basis of the National Insurance Law, passed by the Knesset in November 1953.
National Insurance guarantees financial protection for vulnerable groups and families who find themselves in temporary or long-term difficulties, through the payment of benefits. Today, the National Insurance Law establishes insurance plans for old age and survivors, mothers, children, work-related injuries, general disability, long-term care, unemployment, bankruptcy and liquidation of companies, and more.
